DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
KFOR/KAUT is looking for a full-time Meteorologist to produce and present the weather for the station's newscasts. This person will also be an active contributor to KFOR.com.
JOB EXPERIENCE
Primary Responsibilities
- Formulate weather forecast utilizing modeling data
- Create computer graphics & animation for presentation of weather data
- Formulate weather forecast utilizing modeling data
- Create computer graphics & animation for presentation of weather data
- Present the weather segment during the weekday newscasts and teases that air throughout the day
- Fill in for Weekend Meteorologist to cover vacation and other time off
- This position may occasionally be called on to provide reports for the newscasts.
- Involvement in community events as directed by the station
- Provide forecast information to the station’s website, social media, and other enterprises as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
- Degree in Meteorology with demonstrated severe weather experience.
- Experience utilizing National Weather Service data in forecasts.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of computer weather graphics in weather presentation.
- Demonstrated on air weather presentation skills.
