DESCRIPTION

KSDK-TV, the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate in St. Louis, MO is seeking a creative, engaging, Lifestyle Show HOST for its popular program, “Show Me St. Louis.” Candidate would host a LIVE show and work with sales to create content for multiple platforms for local businesses. The successful candidate will be able to execute a variety of tasks in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and work well with advertisers and producers.

Responsibilities:

  • Host a LIVE lifestyle show Monday – Friday on KSDK-TV in an engaging, exciting and informative manner. Candidate must have a strong on-air presence and delivery skills
  • Excellent, creative presentation and writing skills a must.
  • Generating unique, compelling, and innovative story/show ideas and content.
  • Collaborate with Senior Producer & Associate Producer on show content, execution and planning ahead
  • Help book guests
  • Assist in line-producing a daily show
  • Work with sales team to create mutually beneficial relationships with clients.
  • Properly coordinate and schedule pre-produced sales segments that might require travel to local businesses.
  • Provide an exceptional level of customer service to advertisers purchasing sponsored content.
  • Work with community advocates to highlight their contributions positively impacting the St. Louis area.
  • Develop contacts throughout the community to identify brand- appropriate stories and contribute daily through the editorial process.
  • Perform other tasks as required by Senior Producer.
  • Strong social media skills, including an active presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other platforms.
  • Write in an exciting, captivating and authentic manner.

JOB EXPERIENCE


REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:

  • Broadcast Journalism and/or Mass Communication degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of hosting or reporting experience preferred.
  • Must be able to MMJ (write, shoot, and edit) when needed. Reel must show written and edited packages.
  • Experience working with digital and social media tools in a professional environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure.
  • A personal style that promotes effective communication and professional relationship-building.
  • Excellent use of social media for news gathering/disseminating and community engagement.
  • Cultivate sources.
  • Ability to generate creative, engaging, metrics-informed story pitches
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Strong organization and time management.
  • Knowledge of St. Louis area a plus.
  • Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events.
  • Must be able to work 8 Hour Shift Monday-Friday.
  • Occasional assignments may exceed 40 hours a week
  • Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
  • Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
  • Physical Demands Set: Medium work: Involves standing prolong hours, stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs.
