KOMO/KUNS (Univision Seattle) has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, detail oriented and creative News Editor/photographer!
Job responsibilities include:
- Editing video for daily news coverage, special projects, and sweep period pieces
- Taking in news feeds from news bureaus and various news organizations
- Ability to conduct/record/edit interviews in Spanish
- Collaborating with anchors, reporters, and producers on video elements of newscasts
- Meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy working environment
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be bilingual (Spanish)
- College degree or minimum one (1) year relative experience in the field
- Knowledge with Nonlinear editors; NLEs (Avid Media Composer)
- News information systems (iNews)
- Working knowledge of media codecs, how to transcode and ingest media
- Familiarity with broadcast news standards when creating VO SOTVOs, PKGs, etc. This includes but is not limited to color correction, audio correction, video correction and manipulation, etc.
- Familiarity with cloud media services (Ci, CNN, and NewsOne)
- Knowledge of news camera equipment (lights, audio, video, ingesting, field editing)
- Teamwork and communication with colleagues
- Ability to work with a multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional work environment

The hourly compensation range for this role is $27.00 to $31.25. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
