DESCRIPTION
The Executive Producer / Managing Editor assists in running the day-to -day operations of the newsroom. WPRI is looking for a proven newsroom leader who thrives in breaking news coverage and winning the big story.
JOB EXPERIENCE
- Min. 3 years’ experience as news producer or assignment editor
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Strong writing skills and editorial judgment
- Providence / New Bedford market knowledge is a plus
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excels at writing and showcasing news content on television
- Manages multiple assignments in a high pressure, breaking news environment
- Strong journalistic skills and news judgment
