KIII-TV in Corpus Christi, Texas, the dominant local news station in South Texas, is seeking a high energy and innovative DIGITAL LIVE ANCHOR to be the face of our digital live product 3NEWS NOW. The ideal candidate loves being on the leading edge of new technology, can adapt to changing audiences, and is comfortable anchoring breaking news.


What You’ll Do:

  • Produce and anchor breaking news segments of local interest on all digital platforms and streaming apps
  • Use state-of-the-art equipment to operate independently and responsibly bring our viewers new information, fresh video, live reports from the scene, and interviews with key officials.
  • Generate compelling content ideas or interviews for days without breaking news so that 3NEWS NOW is part of our viewers’ lives on a daily basis.
  • Fill-in anchor for broadcast shows as needed
  • Collaborate with coworkers in weather, sports and news to help highlight and enhance their reports, stories and forecasts
  • Work with Director of Digital Content to curate the streaming platform 3NEWS+
  • Oversee station’s efforts on YouTube and help grow audience
  • Teach, coach and mentor young digital journalists

  • Minimum of 2 years on-air experience
  • Calm, comfortable and credible breaking news reporting
  • Journalism and/or Mass Communication degree (preferred)
  • Texas/regional knowledge is a plus
  • Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
  • Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
  • Physical Demands Set: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time, walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
