ABC10 is seeking an experienced Broadcast Operations Manager to join our award- winning team. Responsible for leading news production staff, executing content strategies, and managing the day-to-day logistics of the newsroom.


  • Supervise photographers, editors, directors, and production assistants to ensure all shifts are staffed and performance standards are met.
  • Help determine the future direction of news operations through clear and regular communication with news managers and staff.
  • Provide mentoring and performance management for all direct reports.
  • Work with news managers to develop and execute large scale coverage for special events and breaking news.
  • Act as primary liaison for network affiliate requests and coordinate logistics for external relationships.
  • Manage special projects as requested by the News Director.
  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure all technical needs are being fulfilled.
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for budget planning and capital projects.
  • Oversee media management to ensure content production is not disrupted and available for all platforms.
  • Maintain vehicle fleet and field gear for photographers.




  • Valid California driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Self-motivated leader with a minimum of five years of proven experience.
  • Previous director experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of field cameras & gear, lighting, non-linear editing systems, ENG video playback and news acquisition systems.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, flexible shifts, and outside in varying weather conditions
  • Able to sit, utilize tools or controls; talk or hear, to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
  • Special vision abilities required for this job include distant, close, and peripheral vision.
  • Travel: Occasionally: 10-25%
  • Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
  • Physical Demands Set: Medium work: Involves standing prolong hours, stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs.
