JOB EXPERIENCE

WALA/Fox10, the news leader in Mobile/Pensacola, is looking for a Breaking News/Traffic Anchor for its morning newscast. The perfect candidate is energetic, innovative, can ad lib and multitask. The Breaking News Traffic Anchor will identify breaking news stories no matter where they happen, push to get on the air quickly with that information, keep track of local traffic issues, and anchor traffic each morning.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Identify breaking news and traffic issues
* Push to get on air quickly
* Present stories on air
* Proficient use of touchscreen
* Fill-in anchor on morning newscast
* OTT desk anchor
* Make relevant social media pushes

This will require proficient use of a touchscreen. The successful candidate will also be required to fill-in as a news anchor during our morning newscasts, anchor news events from our OTT desk, and push relevant material to our social platforms.


REQUIREMENTS

* Excellent writing skills
* Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
* 2 years minimum experience at a commercial television station
* Effective on-camera interviewing ability
* Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to contribute in an on-camera and off-camera team environment
